New Delhi: Delhi Revenue Minister Sh. Arvinder Singh visited Chhath Ghats on the occasion of Chhath Puja to convey his greetings to the large number of devotees. Sh. Singh also wished them success in their religious ceremony. He stated that Chhath Puja has become an integral part of composite culture of Delhi. Chhath Puja provides an opportunity to offer Puja of the Sun God. Sh. Singh stated that the city government has strived hard to provide excellent amenities at various Chhath Ghats. Further, it has given strict instructions to the corporations to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation on the Ghats. Sh. Singh inspected the existing amenities and instructed the department concerned to fine tune the existing amenities keeping in view the surging numbers of devotees.
Sh. Singh Stated that the presence of devotees in large number indicates the importance and relevance of Chhat Puja in the Capital city. The Chhath Parv is now being celebrated in all parts of the country. He added that Poorvanchalis have been instrumental in providing constructive contribution in development of Delhi. The community has nothing to do with politicization of Chhath Puja and they are not being carried away by misleading attitude of the Opposition Party.
The community is only interested in peace, prosperity and development. Sh. Singh added that the successful Puja would go a long way in extending prosperity in the Capital city. Sh. Singh further stated that the city government has been constructing new Ghats year after year. It is essential to increase number of Ghats as number of devotees is going up every year.
The city government has been providing all usual courtesies and amenities to all sections of the society and religions to facilitate them to organize their religious Pujas. Chhath Puja which is being celebrated by Poorvanchalis has resulted in an atmosphere of happiness and joy in the capital city. Sh. Singh also stated that the government under the leadership of Smt. Dikshit has helped in developing an atmosphere conducive to successful conduct of Chhath Puja.
