Delhi government extends ambit of time-bound delivery of services




New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit today stated that results of enforcement of the Delhi (Right of Citizen to time-bound delivery of services) Act, 2011 has been encouraging as large number of persons are availing the facility through e-SLA mode.  The government has extended ambit of time-bound delivery of services.  It has added 20 new services to make the number of services to 116.  The delivery of services by different departments has been accurate as per stipulated time period.  The applicants can track status of the services sought with click of a mouse as time-bound delivery of services has been put on e-SLA mode.  There is little scope of delay in providing services as the officers responsible for the delay are charged prescribed fine for the delayed duration. Smt. Dikshit added that Delhiites have developed a habit of availing time-bound services.  This has resulted in an efficient, reliable and transparent delivery mechanism.
 The city government has included six services of Directorate of Employment, five of Department of Revenue and three services each of Department of Labour, Transport and Irrigation & Flood Control.  As regards, Directorate of Employment services relating to services of notification of vacancies by the employers covered under CNV Act and not covered under CNV Act, a period of one-day has been prescribed for time-bound delivery.  Further, the registration of job seekers, sponsorship for short-term daily wages jobs and updation/deletion of educational qualification one-day duration has been prescribed.  In respect of sponsoring of job seekers for notified vacancies 15 days period has been stipulated. 
 The services relating to Department of Revenue period of 21 days has been fixed for issuance of Lal Dora certificate, R.O.R Fard and surviving member certificate.  A period of 45 days for mutation of land record and a period of seven days for registration of marriage under Hindu Marriage Act have been prescribed. 
  Under Department of Irrigation & Flood Control, registration/revalidation enlistment of the contractor, a period of 30 days has been prescribed.  Further, for validation of documents of registration of agencies registered with CPWD, MES, P&T and Railways, a period of 15 days has been fixed.  Under Labour Department, 60 days has been prescribed for death benefits, funeral benefits and registration of construction workers.  Under Transport Department, a period of 15 days has been prescribed for issuance of duplicate/renewal of route permit, renewal of national permit.
