New Delhi: Chairman, Standing Committee, Mr. Mehak Singh today
blamed Delhi Government irresponsible behavior for the death of five innocent
children in the wall collapsed at Dallupura, New Ashok Nagar. He
blamed that the lackadaisical behavior of the Revenue Department since the wall
constructed was more than 4 feet of height. The repair work of the
old wall was going on, which collapsed on the children playing by the
side. He also added that since Dallupura is a rural village that
comes under the jurisdiction of Revenue Department of the Delhi Government, the
SDM of the area is responsible for any such illegal activities. As per the
Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954, it is the responsibility of area SDM to accord
permission to erect boundary wall above four feet. Mr. Singh asked
for the resignation of Minister of Revenue and Deputy Speaker of the
Legislative Assembly, who is representing Legislative Assembly from the area,
on moral grounds for the mishap.
Mehak Singh informed that EDMC dispatched its man power and
equipments including JCBs for the rescue operation and removal of malba from
the site as soon the accident came to the notice.
