NDMC strict against the 800 illegal hoardings launches drive to make city beautiful

New Delhi: In a bid to make the city clean and beautiful, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation Commissioner has launches against the illegal hoardings. NDMC commissioner Praveen Gupta today directed the Deputy Commissioners of all six Zones that all illegal hoardings be removed within next two days.

Besides, taking action under Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act 2007 (Act 1 of the 2009), nearly 800 illegal hoardings were removed from by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation since 15 January till date.

Out of total illegal hoardings removed, 329 were of religious and political boards in all the six Zones; 404 were sun pack sheet/banners; 294 were commercial boards; 32 were flexes; and 15 each were wall wraps/self signages and unipole hoardings. (Details of the same are attached herewith).

Launching a drive against defacing of walls and illegal hoardings of other types, the North Delhi Commissioner has directed the DCs of the respective zones should be cleaned off such illegal hoardings.

“The illegal hoardings are put up without paying the due amount to the Corporation and many of them also defy the Defacement of Property Act 2007. Hence, in a strong action, we will make sure that all illegal hoardings are removed,” said Mr. P K Gupta.
