Delhi: The first phase of issue of new TSR permit is going smoothly without any
problem. However, there was a demand from various associations that limit
of grant of new TSR raised, so that there is no apprehension to the buyers of
TSR regarding not getting permit for plying the
vehicles. Till today, about 5400 permits have
been issued under the new scheme of TSR permit in the first phase out of which
5050 permits under general category utilized their full quota out of
10000. The response from the reserved category in the first phase has
been poor and has yet not been utilized their quota as prescribed in the
reservation rule. However, keeping in view the problem faced by the
geberal category, Government realizes to enhance the limit immediately.
Therefore, department has decided to enhance the limit to 35000 (Gen – 17675,
OBC – 9450, SC – 5250 & ST – 2625) out of additional 45000 permits allowed
by the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Department has issued a public notice in
this regard for the information of the general public so they can buy a new TSR
It will eliminate the illegal trading of TSR and high handedness of
financiers to charge exorbitantly high interest rate or illegal money from the
buyers.
A
special feature of the new scheme is that all new TSR should be fitted with
integrated GPS/GPRS fare meter duly certified by weight and Measures Department
of Govt. of Delhi. Such new TSR fitted with GPS/GPRS are connected with
the Operation & Command Control Centre (OCC) of the Delhi Integrated Multi
Modal Transit System Ltd (DIMTS) for the purpose of tracking all these
vehicles. The new TSR fare meter is also fitted with a printer and
passenger can get printed receipt for the amount of fare paid for use of new
TSR. This is as per the recommendations of GOEM, Govt. of India to
install GPS/GPRS in Para Transit Vehicles to ensure safety of passengers.
Now,
willing eligible citizen under the scheme can buy TSR of approved make and may
register any Zonal authority namely Burari, Surajmal Vihar, Sarai Kale Khan
& Raja Garden for obtaining a permit.
