CM instruction for 24X7 power supply to the 'world class' city Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit has asked the Discoms in the Capital City to ensure 24X7 power supply. While taking note of power cuts being affected by the Discoms in various parts of the City, Smt. Dikshit told the Discoms to fulfill their commitment towards the customers. The City Government would not allow the Discoms to leave the consumers in lurch by effecting power cuts in the extreme winter season. This is causing inconvenience to the customers.

Dikshit made it clear that the power cuts seem to be unjustified as the peak demand is moderate i.e. 3500 MW. Moreover the power sector in the Capital City is not facing any shortage. She asked the Discoms to arrange power in order to ensure round the clock supply to the customers. The customers should not be forced to take difficulties due to power cut during severe cold wave. Smt. Dikshit also instructed the Power Department to closely monitor the situation and bring it to the notice of the Chief Secretary & Chief Minister in case power cuts continue in the city.
