Delhi Health Minister Dr. A. K. Walia today stated that his Department has been sincerely striving hard to scale up and introduce additional trauma care facilities after an incident of disruption in oxygen supply took place in Sushruta Trauma Centre. The Health Department has strengthened the infrastructure in the Centre as well as in other major hospitals in order to save precious lives of the serious patients including accident victims. Dr.Walia also stated that the city government has taken an important decision to put in place a new, additional advanced, trauma care services in Lok Nayak Hospital situated in Central Delhi.
Dr. Walia stated that the new services would become operational in Orthopedic Block in Lok Nayak Hospital with 50 beds which would include 10 exclusive beds for Trauma ICU. The government would ensure installation of the latest equipments required for MRI, CT Scan, Ultrasound apart from commissioning a specialized Blood Bank.

Dr. Walia stated that the existing Sushruta Trauma Centre is also getting due attention of the government as nine Technicians from Lok Nayak Hospital has been deployed in the Centre to ensure proper services including oxygen supply.
