New Delhi: Parliamentary Secy. to CM, CLP Spokesperson and fourth-time MLA Sh. Mukesh Sharma today visited number of Chhath Ghat in West Delhi. He utilized this opportunity to convey greetings on behalf of the Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit to large number of Chhath devotees gathered to perform their religious and traditional rites on Chhath Parv. Sh. Sharma also offered "Ardhya" to the sun god in the evening at Vipin Garden, Chhath Ghat in presence of a large number of devotees and office bearers of various Poorvanchali organizations. Sh. Sharma also visited a Chhath Ghat at Budh Bazar, Hastsal alongwith Sh. Randhir Singh, President Bihar Chhath Puja Samiti. Sh. Sharma was instrumental in getting this Chhat Ghat constructed by Delhi Development Authority. The office bearers of number of Poorvanchali organizations conveyed their gratitude to Smt. Dikshit, Sh. Arvinder Singh and Sh. Mukesh Sharma for making all foolproof arrangements at Chhath Ghats. They stated that the Chhath Ghats are looking clean and gracious due to excellent arrangement made by various deptts. of city government.
Sh. Sharma also addressed devotees at various Chhath Ghats and expressed hope that Chhath Maiya would fullfil their wishes. they have been performing Puja in true spirit to please the sun god. He further stated that Chhath Parv has become an integral part of Delhi's culture. He slammed the BJP for politicizing the issues related to Chhath Puja. The BJP-ruled three corporations are making hue and cry to get political mileage whereas they have done nothing in developing the Ghats. The city government has been concentrating on this for the last two months. Sh. Sharma would also visit other Ghats in the morning and would offer Ardhya to the rising sun at Bindapur.
