New Delhi: Commissioner of North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Sh.
P.K. Gupta today visited Shalimar Bagh area under Ward No.55. During the
inspection, Member, Standing Committee and area Councillor, Mr. Ram Kishan
Singhal, MLA, Shri Ravinder Bansal, Addl. Cm. (Engg.), Shri Pawan Kumar Sharma,
Deputy Commissioner, Rohini Zone, Shri S.S.Gill and other officers were also
present. During the visit, the Commissioner interacted with the senior
residents to assess their problems pertaining to local body in order to improve
the civic amenities in the area.
During the inspection, Commissioner visited Nigam Pratibha Vikas
Vidhyala of BB Block, West Shalimar Bagh. The said school has been adjudged one
of the best municipal schools for the last 20 years continuously. Commissioner,
NDMC also visited UV Block of Shalimar Bagh, where a Senior Citizens’
Recreation Centre has been developed. A branch of Hardayal Municipal Library is
also running on the ground floor of the said Senior Citizen Recreation
Centre. A Swimming Pool has also been developed inside the same
building. The Commissioner directed all the official concerned to make
necessary arrangements to provide required facilities within few months.
Mr. Ravinder Bansal, MLA and area Councillor, Mr. Ram Kishan
Singhal also requested the Commissioner to develop an Underground Multilevel
Car Parking on the vacant land in the School premises. The
Commissioner immediately directed the senior officials of the Engineering
Department to examine and put-up feasibility report.
