New Delhi Under the banner of Bundelkhand Nagrik Morcha, thousands of people from Bundelkhand includes much social organization, Politician, Social workers, Labor Union and Union of market today have assembled at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.
For many decades they are fighting for the betterment of their region but neither Central government nor state government take necessary action on the issues like Water Supply, Better Education, Safety and Security of women, Transportation, employment and many more.
While addressing to media, well known social activist and President of Bumdelkhand Nagrik Morcha Raghu Thakur said, “In pursuit of our mission - to create sustainable livelihoods – we focus on Bundelkhand in central India. The region comprises 13 districts of the states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Bundelkhand is a microcosm of the Indian rural economy, one of the poorest and most backward in the country.
We got freedom before 65 years but government had just taken few steps towards the development of Bundelkhand. Largest portion of Bundelkhand is depends upon farming. In the search of employment lots of individuals are forced to abscondment cause of draught farming.
Transportation plays an important role in development. Local trains are the best and cheapest way of travelling from one place to another but bundelkhand is backward in this category too. We have around 80 thousandKM railway lines around the country. If see the graph of Bundelkhand then we will get to know that the population of Bundelkhand is near about 5 crore which is 4% of country’s population and according to that we should get 3200 KM railway lines”, but as of now we have 2% of railway line.
