The world today is more global than it ever was: Sheila Dikshit
Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit today said that no area can progress until it has enough educational Institutes. Smt. Dikshit further said that Technical Education is playing a vital role in social and economic development of our nation. Today Delhi has a number of Universities/ Deemed to be Universities imparting higher education in different areas including technical education. The Chief Minister was speaking after laying foundation stone of Deen Dayal Upadhaya College at Sector-3, Dwarka, New Delhi. Delhi Health & Higher Education Minister Dr A.K Walia, West Delhi MP Sh. Mahabal MIshra, Area MLA Sh. Somesh Sokeen, Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University Prof. Dinesh Singh, Chairman College Governing Body Sh. Tom Vadakan, and Principal of the DDU College Shri S.K. Garg were also present on the occasion.
Dikshit further stated that the world today is more global than it ever was. For the first time in human history, tens of millions of us all over the world are literate in the same language. We all are extremely well-informed by historic standards, thanks to the explosion in education, training, media and travel. We are able to access the world’s finest and most invigorating ideas, inventions and discoveries, due to the advancements in print, sound, and visual media. We are able to communicate almost everywhere, directly and instantly.
. Dikshit said that it is now time to recover and march forward in consolidating gains of liberalization initiated by the Government of India. She further said that the college has been producing young graduates. The Chief Minister hoped that young passed out graduates from this college will contribute substantially in development of the capital city and country.
