New Delhi: The Chief Minister has stated that the Cabinet has approved the new Excise Policy for the year 2013-14. The new Policy would focus on better availability of quality liquor. She added that there is no change in license fee for grant of license in Form-L-1 and L-1F. There is also no change in license fee for hotels, clubs, restaurants and retail vend of liquor. The Policy offers an option to the restaurants to deposit the license fee in two equal installments. She also stated that the quality of liquor in Delhi is the best in the country.

Dikshit added that marginal hike in different quality and brands of liquor would come into force after issue of a notification. The MRP of Delhi Medium Liquor has been increased from `90/- to `100 quarts, similarly, the MRP of Economy Liquor has been increased from `120/- to `130/- per quarts. The ex-distillery price (EDP) on non-free pricing brands (MRP `350/- and below in case of whisky and wine) will be increased by about 5%. The local transportation charge has been increased from`2.5 to `3 per case and the freight has been increased from `300/-+(10.5 per km) to `300/- +(11 per km) per consignment of 600 cases.
