New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today stated that her Government is keen to increase the ambit of beneficiaries under Aadhar Based Direct Cash Transfer. The Government would like to include more beneficiaries under Delhi Anshree Yojna and Delhi Kerosene Free Scheme apart from including beneficiaries under building construction workers welfare fund, school children and pensioners under aged, widows and handicapped categories in the ambit of those beneficiaries who have been getting their benefits under Aadhar Based Direct Cash Transfer

The issue of obstacles coming in the way of opening bank accounts of beneficiaries was also discussed as banks have not been rendering their active cooperation. This is resulting in difficulties in withdrawal of benefit money to the beneficiaries already covered under Direct Cash Transfer.

Dikshit would address a letter to the Union Finance Minister on this issue. She further stated that her Government would facilitate in installation of small ATM machines at its 140 GRC centres, 11 offices of Dy. Commissioners of Revenue and certain circle offices of Food & Supply Department. In order to help beneficiaries to withdrawal their benefit amount easily.

Apart from this the employees working at these offices would be given status of bank correspondents. Smt. Dikshit added that 95% of total population of Delhi has received Aadhar number. The Applicants can also take print out through internet in respect of their Aadhar number. The print out as such would be treated as original Aadhar number card. This would facilitate beneficiaries to get their bank accounts opened and avail benefits of the schemes.
