New Delhi: Sampurna has sent a letter to Prime
Minister demanding 10th May as National Women Security Day.Referring the women
convention held on 10th May at Convention Hall, NDMC Building where a huge number
of adolescent girls and women gathered and took an oath to make Delhi crime
free by six months long training programme.
Dr. Shobha Vijender said that we
want speedy justice to the deceased victim of 16th December, 2012. She further
said that thousands of volunteers would go to the highest authorities for speedy
justice and implementation of Anti- rape Law in true spirit. She even requested
the media to help the organization to keep the issue alive until something
concrete is being done by the Establishments. The demands are as follows:
To observe Nirbhaya’s Birthday, 10th May as Women
Security Day.Stringent punishment to the criminals who inflicts crime against
women and children.Speedy trials of the alleged criminals. Utilization of
Nirbhaya’s fund in totality. Head of the institution should be held accountable
for any laxity in the system.
