
Delhi Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. A.K Walia today distribute momentoes to voluntary Blood donors at Delhi Secretariat Auditorium on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. On this occasion Secretary Health and family welfare Sh. S.C.L Das and Project Director DSACS Sh. D.S Pandit were also Present. On this occasion large number of voluntary blood donors and staff were also present and donate blood voluntarly
Health Minister said that Every blood donation as a gift of life .Total Blood unit requirement Approx. 5.0 lakh unit in delhi while Collection in Delhi is 5.04 Lakh.Total No. of Blood Banks is 64(Govt. & NGO: 25) (Pvt. Bl. Banks: 39), 55/65 blood banks in Delhi have facility for Component separation and platelet pheresis.
r Walia said that Measures taken for improvement of Blood Safety and promotion of Voluntary Donations for Created & RBTCs in Delhi and decentralized blood collection.Financial assistance to the NGOs for holding blood donation Camps. Honoring of NGOs who are engaged in regular blood donation. We Supporting NGO for creating a song/ picture on Blood Donation.Materialistic support to all govt. blood banks through DSACS (blood bags, kits consumables, equipments etc also provided.
Health Minister Stated that Blood Transfusion Service to be given a status of department and a separate cadre for Medical as well as technical people working in Blood Bank RBTCs need to be given independent status.Adequate staff and space and modern equipments for Blood Banks. All Blood Banks Govt. and Pvt. Should be networked and their stock status should be on line. Air conditioned blood donation Couches to each of RBTCs State of art Model independent Blood Bank & Institute of Immuno-hematology and Blood Transfusion Centre for Govt. of Delhi NAT Screening to reduce Transfusion infections.SBTC should be strengthened with independent office and staff.
Dr walia also address a National Seminar on Promotion of Voluntary Blood donation as chief Guest on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day promoted by Department of Transfusion Medicine , Indraprastha Apollo Hospital and State Blood Transfusion Council NCT of Delhi.
