Union Government is all set to celebrate 11th Ayurveda Day on 23 September 2026 in Nagpur, Maharashtra The theme of the celebration is  “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow” ‘स्वस्थ भविष्य के लिए आयुर्वेद". The Government is ready to make the event marked the commencement of the nationwide campaign leading up to Ayurveda Day. 

The basic concept behind the conceptualization of theme is to display the vision of connecting India’s rich Ayurvedic heritage with the evolving healthcare needs of the future.

Union Minister of State (I/C) for Ayush and Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, addressed the Curtain Raiser program hinting the commencement of the nationwide campaign leading up to Ayurveda Day. 

The main Ayurveda Day celebrations will be held on 23 September 2026 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, with “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow” ‘स्वस्थ भविष्य के लिए आयुर्वेद as its theme, reflecting the vision of connecting India’s rich Ayurvedic heritage with the evolving healthcare needs of the future.

Ayurveda Day Initiatives: 3 Important Facts

Government has outlined three important areas that will guide this year’s Ayurveda Day campaign-

  • “Integrative Healthcare for Better Health Outcomes,” with a focus on leveraging the expertise and strengths of different systems of medicine for better health outcomes; 
  • “Evidence, Research and Innovation in Ayurveda,” emphasizing research, evidence and innovation as essential pillars for the wider global acceptance and future development of Ayurveda; and 
  • “Ayurveda for Community Wellbeing and Sustainable Living,” highlighting the role of Ayurveda in promoting the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities while encouraging sustainable living.
