New Delhi: The third day of "DELHI
SMILES" DENTAL HEALTH UTSAV 2012 continued to be as exciting as the first
two days of the festival. The Dental
Health Exhibition & Free Dental Health Check up continued as more and more
people visited the hospital premises. This helped a lot in dental health education
and promotion amongst general population. MAIDS is the only hospital providing
tertiary care services under Govt. of NCT of Delhi .
Students from different dental colleges
competed in a quiz competition.Followed
by the quiz was another intercollege competion
of fine arts where a number of participants showed their talent in matka
painting and soap carving.
Music lovers were delighted by brilliant
performances by budding dentists who participated in the inter college singing
competition. Next to the singing competition Padma Shree PreranaShrimali gave a
scintillatingkathak performance.PreranaShrimali is one of the most illustrious
performers and representative of the Jaipur Gharana of Kathak. She received her
training in dance from late Shri Kundanlal Gangani, the renowned Guru of the
Jaipur Gharana of Kathak. Kathak performance was organised by Spic Macay. Dental health utsav would have remained
incomplete without the Smilecompetition 'talaash-e-muskaan'where students and
staff of MAIDS competed with each other to find the perfect smile. Towards the
end of the day students walked the ramp in stunning outfits and with groovy
numbers.
