Jaipur: Parliamentarian and Chairman of Public Accounts Committee of Parliament Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi has said that the sinister designs of handing over retail market of India to global retailers by the Government without caring  future of livelihood of crores of people of  India has been exposed and  a more wider and louder voice of protest amongst the citizens across the Country will only render the notification meaningless.

 He was inaugurating a two day national convention of trade leaders of different states of the Country held by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). CAIT National President Mr. B. C. Bhartia presided the convention. Mr. Joshi said that so far the traders were "captive" at the hands of system but now the MNC's will go ahead in killing Indian Retail Trade with their business module based on predatory pricing and exploitation.
 More than 100 trade leaders from 24 States are participating in two days national convention. Former MP Shri Ram Das Aggarwal, leading businessmen Shri Gokul Maheshwari, Sunil Bansal, Rajender Bardia, women enterprenur Smt Sunita Mantri, Ravi Jindal, women enterpreneur Seema Sethi, GopaL Gupta  and others  attended the inaugural function.
 Taking a dig at the statement of Prime Minister that people opposing FDI are having a traditional approach, Dr. Joshi questioned whether westernisation of the Country is called as progressive approach ? Laying greater stress on exploitation of domestic resources instead of inviting global retailers, Dr. Joshi termed the FDI notification as disastrous for the economy and retail trade of the Country, Dr. Joshi firmly said that if NDA is voted to power in next general election in 2014, it will reject the current notification of allowing FDI in Retail Trade.

2.jpgDr.Joshi said that there is urgent need to exploit the domestic resources and to ensure  due prices to the farmers for their produce,implementation of a policy which enable the laborers to get due wages,facilitating Street Vendors to earn their livelihood without any hurdles, a National Trade Policy for small shopkeepers defining parameters for systemetic and regulated growth.
