New Delhi: Crime branch have busted a govt. hospital drug racket
operating in Delhi. Five persons have been arrested in this regard. According
to police sources, a huge quantity of govt. hospital drug including Cilanem 500
mg 19, Targocid injection, Alburel, Alphadol, Telma 40, Vasofix 100, Cuta
September, Wosulin, Alphadol, Dianorm, Ketolog, Thyronorm 5000 tablets, Statix
3000 tablets, Acitrom 5000 tablets, Eslo 2000 tablets have been recovered. The
seizure of govt. hospital drug is worth more than Rs. 12 lakhs. The recovered
medicines are from Railway hospital, ECHS hospitals, ESI hospitals, SGM
hospital. The arrested persons are. Neeraj , Sachin Gupta. Hari , Hari Nath and
Ram Vir Singh. Special Investigation
Team received information that Neeraj Kumar and Sachin Gupta were running a
government hospital drug racket in Delhi. On 14/01/13 a trap was laid near Nala
sector 24 Rohini and Neeraj Kumar and Sachin Gupta were apprehended along with
the government hospital drugs. A case under relevant section of the Indian
Penal Code was registered accordingly. Hari
Shankar of Bhagirath Place, who is the receiver of government hospital drug, was
arrested from Bhagirath Place. Hari Nath
Daya Basti Railway Colony, Delhi, employee of ECHS (Ex- serviceman’s
contributory health scheme) poly clinic Bhisam Pitamah Marg, Lodhi Road, New
Delhi was arrested and a medicine of ECHS has been recovered from his house.
Store Keeper Rambir Singh s/o Chander Bhan r/o 10786, Gali No. 15, Pratap Bagh,
Delhi of ECHS has also been arrested and medicines of ECHS has been recovered
from his house. During interrogation it has been learnt that Neeraj Kumar and
Sachin Gupta sold these government hospital drug through one Hari Shankar of
Bhagirath Place in Delhi. According to rough estimates they have managed to
supply spurious medicines worth more than Rs. 50 lakhs in Delhi and other
states in the past 3 years. Some of these medicines are very expensive.
