MCD slaps notices to DU and Jamia Islamia University to Pay
Property tax
New Delhi: University to deposit their pending property
tax. South Campus has to pay approximately 2 crore whereas Jamia Milia Islamia
University has to pay 2.5 crore as property tax to Municipal Corporation.
As per the provisions of section 155 &156 of DMC Act,
1957, if the payment is not done within three days of receipt of this notice,
failing which necessary action as above will be taken in this regard and the
amount will be recovered by way of attachment and sale of moveable &
immoveable properties etc.
Assessor & Collector of SDMC, Mr. B.N. Singh informed that
we will be issuing notices to all big Govt. and non Govt. institutions under
our jurisdiction to get maximum property tax.
