New Delhi: New and young voters have to use their right wisely. Before casting the vote, the voters must think twice and thrice and vote only the representative who fulfills the criteria of good governance. They should also ensure whether the candidate is honest towards development of the country, said Lt. Governor of Delhi Shri Tejendra Khanna, while speaking at a function organised on the occasion of National Voter’s Day 2013 today. The function was organised by Chief Election Officer of Delhi. Shri Vijay Dev, Chief Election Officer, and many other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
On safety of women, Shri Khanna said the society thrives with stronger bonds if the women are respected. He said our mother, wife, sister, daughter all are women. Therefore, we all have to respect them and provide a sense of safety and secure environment in which they can work freely, travel around the city without any fear or tension.
On this occasion, Shri Khanna also gave Election Cards to some newly enrolled voters.
