Earth Day is celebrated annually world-wide to create awareness and appreciation for the earth’s natural environment and the Web of Life. There are a strong reason to celebrate the Earth Day to create awareness as it is use to held since 1970 as a teach-in, with various environmentally friendly activities. It has spread internationally since 1990, gaining significant momentum in over 175 countries every year. Earth Week is the culmination for the reason to create awareness among the people in a bid to aware people for the same. In the same contest, a grand carnival by Delhi Government marked the culmination of Earth Week.
The basic concept for the carnival was to highlight the basic theme of the Earth Week which is -Re-use, Recycle and Reduce. On the occassion of the Earth Day, children use to give the message in term of the carnival grounds which was tastefully festooned with decorations and art installations made of recycled materials such as colourfully painted discarded bottles, wood waste and tubes.
Needless to say that the nature provides inspiration and teaches us how to smell, taste, listen, recreate, study, identify and express ourselves. The Nature Trail has been instilling in the various visitors a spirit of scientific enquiry, enhancing their skill of observation and most importantly creating and understanding about the green environs.
The Trail enables them to learn about different trees, birds, insects, mammals and their relationships with each other. She added that experiencing nature and learning from it, is one of the best ways of understanding the environment. The Nature Trail is an enriching experience and if accompanied by a knowledgeable interpreter it adds immense value to the exercise. The Nature Trail was first inaugurated in 2006
